Deep Tissue

Recommended fortnightly.

Thumbs, knuckles, elbows and wrists are used to apply maximum pressure.

This is a deep, more specific massage usually focusing on one area of the body such as the back. It is fantastic for people with problem areas needing special attention, but also an excellent preventative measure against stiff, inflexible muscles.

A great one for general back maintenance!

Usually between 30-45 minutes long, this massage includes all of the same movements and intentions as Swedish massage but will focus on specific problem areas as they are uncovered- with much slower deeper movements.

Is it uncomfortable?

An element of discomfort during the massage is normal when stubborn areas are worked upon. This is completely within the client’s control as communication with the masseuse is encouraged to ensure the right amount of pressure is applied at all times.

Any discomfort experienced a day or so after the massage is due to the movement of previously stagnant muscle tissue and will subside within 48 hours. The result is a greater range of motion and supple, more efficient muscles.
